An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedI haven't had a specific problem except when the coach tells you to stand up on the bike, which is impossible. I try to lift myself, but I don't think that's wise. I just increase resistance. I do think we should be able to choose "recumbent" at the outset of tours.

We like this idea a lot, it may also make sense for other things like calorie burn. If we implement this, we would make it an option before Save & Exit so that it would also be broadcast out to any selected share services (like Runkeeper, etc). If anyone has additional ideas or feedback on this area please speak up.
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedThe way I get around it is to run Map My Fitness while I'm looking at BitGym. That way I enjoy the bike ride or virtual hike, and yet have a record of it.
For virtual distance, my indoor bike tells me, and I add it to MMF, which captures a HR monitor and footpod cadence.
There's not much choice now that BitGym has oddly removed sharing data to other apps. I don't know why they did that, but I hope they put it back.

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedNow that certain indoor bikes and trainer accessories can actually climb as well as go downhill, I think BitGym needs to add this in order to keep up with the (mostly animated) competition.
With electric/electronic *treadmills,* there is the danger of the machine taking the user too fast; there really is no such problems with *cycling.* It should be very possible to do what the animated simulations do, but with all the added advantages of BitGym.
Robin Markowitz supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedThis is clearly very difficult, especially for indoor bikes which do no have "climbing" and wind resistance capabilities. But to always keep your hand on the resistance changer is not particularly easy, either.
The only answer is to start partnering with hardware makers.

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedIf it's free, who is going to film the tours? Who is going to make them interactive.
Considering the expense of making the tours, it's more than worth the money.
If you don't like the app, have no questions or suggestions, why are you here, exactly?

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedIt's always better to download the tours. If you have a low storage capacity, just delete the course before downloading a new one. BTW, the newer courses are fabulous! I did about half of Berkeley Morning fog and it's breathtaking, in both meanings.
Even though I often use a stationary bike with BitGym, I will return to use my rebounder for "running up the steps" on this course. A little too many steps to climb for a recumbent bike. That's the genius of the app: it works with every cardio device there is becauseit follows you. You just have to get creative sometimes. I just bounced up with the steps.
Be nice if at some point, you'll be able to partner with manufacturers and thus be able to make a bike seat bounce and jiggle while the device is inclining like the Kickr Climb..

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedIt would be helpful to add "rebounder" for things like sand running and backwoods hikes. A treadmill is just too smooth-surfaced for hiking or beach running, etc.
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedOh! Forgot! I wear a Wahoo TICKR Run chest strap to get the correct hiking data and calories. Now it gives good distance and average pace too!
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedIt already does that. I use a rebounder and generally choose "hike" because it feels life climbing on uneven terrain and is human-powered. Wonderful! Then I edit it for distance using a Pebble workout-pedometer. Works like a dream!
You can also have Map My Hike running in the background if you do choose.
Platform: iPad 4

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedI usually run my fitness app in the background while enjoying BitGym. I use UnderArmour/MapMyFitness app suite. Using an iPad 4 and IOS 8.*.
You should be able to do this with your Strava. Try it. I run Amazon music in the background and using Map My Fitness. Everything seems better that way currently. If I choose the export to Under Armour, I often just see "class Workout." But I worked it out.

We’re going to release a run, bike and hike in France one at a time over the next couple months. Stay tuned!
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedThanks. I love Paris! (And got there without a boat or plane!)
Fantastic tour! The other new ones are great too!

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedI have been enjoying the new European tours on my rebounder and record it as a light hike in Map My Hike. (Some editing of the description is necessary.) I have both apps running at once, but connect the HR monitor to MMH. It all works VERY well. (I have MMH on my Android phone while using an iPad 4 to enjoy BitGym. I often save to Under Armour if the statistics appear accurate. Otherwise I use MMH. It is a bit complicated. I think BitGym could help out with that.
A treadmill would actually be less realistic for tours with lots of steps and uneven terrain mixed with cleaner paths. On my rebounder, I can get lost in the course as I jump up the steps with hard force one foot at a time, and then switch to a more casual hiking pace. There are no machine settings to change. (I use a Pebble workout pedometer app to calculate distance.)
It would just be easier to have it all right in BitGym, or be able to edit the information.
The rebounder has made me much stronger and I can ride an indoor or outdoor bike longer and harder.
Thanks again for the magic and for my renewed health!

This is a great idea, and we have started it.
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedAnd when there are big races or local charity walks/runs, it would be delightful to be able to participate. In other words, stream the race live with your special caneras.
This might take some time with the local charity events, but worth looking into.

Great idea, we’re working on it now that we’ve added and end of workout screen with workout stats. The next step is letting you share that to social networks and other fitness tracking apps.
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedDitto. Doesn't post ANY stats. But I am patient!

Thank you for the suggestion, we’re going to look into adding MMR and MMF as exports.
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedSomething new and exciting on this front!
An important new development is that all these apps are connected directly to the new Under Armour Record connected fitness app.
This includes My Fitness Pal, most major wearables, and the Map My Fitness family of apps. Any apps that are Under Armour connected are the key apps to connect to Bit Gym. It's a HUGE thing and offers tremendous visibility to Bit Gym!.
I think it's vital to consider Bit Gym's role in this MAJOR new social media connected fitness umbrella app. Perhaps when you connect MMF, find a way for auto-posting of courses members of "Record" have just run (or biked, walked, etc.) "Bob just rode the Maui Challenge course on Bit Gym!" Along with the actual MMF data picked up from the Bit Gym workout from the connection. All MMF needs are distance (in miles and/or kilometers) and duration. That's all. Nothing else necessary.
This could lead to amazing growth of Bit Gym!
An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedVery happy! Love the app; it's changing my life!

An error occurred while saving the comment Robin Markowitz commentedI was offered a year at discount from the monthly rate. I took it! No question!
You wear a cadence sensor either on a bike's crank arm, or on your shoe to send the data to an app running underneath BitGym. BitGym displays your cadence, of course. I now use Scosche on my forearm for HR.
